Scots Magazine
The October issue of the Scots Magazine (out now, £2.50) has a nice two page article on Urban Orienteering in Scotland, including a brief interview with Hollie Orr. We're really fortunate that journalist Garry Fraser took an interest in Urban Orienteering - its not that often we get orienteering into the mainstream press, let alone a magazine with a worldwide distribution! Anyone prepared to have a go at naming the two people in the pics and where the photos were taken? One is really easy...

Re: Scots Magazine
Nice wee article and a good plug for the pre-Commonwealth Games Urban race in Glasgow next year. The main picture is Hollie Orr in Perth (wish I could vault barriers like that !), the other one I reckon is Electrocuted and it might be the Barbican.

Correct LK! Not sure if Electrocuted has seen the pic yet - fully expect to get some abuse for giving them that one!

Well, I've now bought my copy. At least it looks like I'm running. When you said it was taken in the Barbican I had visions of me standing around looking lost!

Re: Scots Magazine
Surprisingly there's actually another mention of Orienteering in a totally separate article in this month's Scots Magazine. Anyone else found it?

Re: Scots Magazine
The latest version of the Scots Magazine has a follow up letter from our very own President (my boss) Roger Scrutton. The photo (reproduced here and in various things including a Concordat we have with the Forestry Commission Scotland) is my own Photoshop combination of Steve Wilson of CLYDE at the JK2012 Relays and a nice bit of Culbin I was walking through one day on WOC business.

Re: Scots Magazine
The July edition of the Scots magazine (out today) has a very well researched 4 page article by SOA Patron Cameron McNeish entitled "Navigation knack - Orienteering is something everyone should try" encouraging everyone with an interest in the outdoors to give O a try. Getting a mention are Trail-O and Paralympic cyclist Karen Darke, Jamie Stevenson, GG and Jon Duncan, the Scottish 6 days, WOC 2015, as well as Cameron's old pal the late Chris Brasher. Its a nice bit of publicity for the sport pre-WOC.
Coincidentally, there's also an article on bringing back the wolf to Scotland...

You wont be able to read the whole article on the web, just the summary, but its well worth shelling out £3 for the mag.

An excellent piece. Just the sort of thing our sport needs. Nice to see Cameron McNeish taking an interest in the Moray Mix Weekend - and he's doing a talk in Elgin after the Dufftown SOUL event on Saturday as part of the Moray Walking Festival. I know a few orienteers are attending.

Re: Scots Magazine
There's a half-page article in today's "Telegraph" describing the writer's attempt at the orange course at TVOC's recent Hughenden event. It's all very positive and she enjoyed it.
