When did you last buy the merchandise from the JK or BOC?
Can you remember the days when each event had a suitable, interesting, different logo for area etc, Instead of the insipid offering we have this year.
The JK logo was good the first time, but with only a small change in the writing each year they no longer seem as distinctive as before.
Basically, they are BORING.
How many get sold?
Does the firm make any profit?
What is the point of them?
How much longer are we going to be lumbered with them?

Re: Merchandise
I remember owning a beautiful dark purple JK sweat shirt which was emblazoned with a celtic pattern embossed in silver on the front. I think I bought it at the JK that was held at Hayle in Cornwall where all the competitors and their families and friends took over the whole Haven Holiday park which was actually on the edge of the map. The weather was glorious for the whole week - great fun and happiness.

Re: Merchandise
I bought a technical t-shirt two years ago when it was held in Scotland but my favourite t shirts are the craft ones from the JKs in 2007 and 2009. They were a good price too. This year's in my opinion are a bit dull and far too expensive.
I love the Lakes 5 merchandise though. It's mostly available in women's sizes as well as men's, great prices, great designs. The o top is really nice. I wish I was going!

Re: Merchandise
I've written about this in the past and asked major events to produce fashionable, stylish and good quality products, whether technical or leisure. That we will be proud to wear. I did point out in connection with the Welsh 5 Days that if you keep using the same design you only need to buy it once. Their last selection was very nice and I even put my hand in my pocket and bought a buff (like I need another!)
As I said at the time - the road to orienteering oblivion is strewn with grey marl sweatshirts.
My favourite items are a t shirt and sweatshirt from the 1999 World Champs in Scotland - you know with the dolphin on the back. Beautiful and witty. I'm conserving them for next year.

Re: Merchandise
Logo is fantastic, but pale blue looks horrendous. It should have been white.

Re: Merchandise
I won a JK hoody, the colours to choose my prize from were limited, and the material is too thin, worn it once since I recieved it.
Would never be able to afford to buy all the kids one if we went to JK, and the other items are too expensive for what they are.
