SYO long odds on for the juniors catergory, I cant think that anybody will get anywhere near them out of all the B Course Teams.

I'm sure somethig similar to this was said last year and it didn't work out that way! Longmoor has several areas of vegetation that are distinctly different, and are real gems. Maybe some of the SN and SO juniors will have had more recent experience of the area.

Defending champions from last year:
Men: FVO
FVO are the only team on the A course yet to declare. Maybe the thought of travelling 400+ miles again this year is taking its toll!!

Re: Harvester Relays
Don't worry, we are making the long journey again! Only sorted out our team on Friday after an illness drop-out, which is why we were unable to declare earlier.
Just as well we are travelling really as this means the Trophy will be there for the prizegiving......we will of course do our best to defend but I think DEE/BOK/SLOW are all looking strong, as are SYO Zimmers in their bid to win outright with a team that also qualifies for the handicap!
Thanks BAOC for staging the event again - looking forward to the usual great night of racing that the Harvester always brings!

Re: Harvester Relays
My son's heading there today for a cadets' week. An easy night relay for teenage cadets to do might have been fun for them, but probably too much hassle for the event organisers and cadet camp managers (and experienced competitors).
It may have been more of a challenge for the cadets than anything else they'll get up to though.
Marching up and down the square anyone?

In case you missed it (!), this afternoon ITV3 was showing 'The Great St. Trinians Train Robbery' (1966), filmed partly at Longmoor. The course of the railway lines are still visible today.

Apparently the cadets are out later this morning with bows and arrows to the late finishers!

Re: Harvester Relays
Well done to the two SYO winning teams, esp Spookster who prepared for this with a 5 hour O related meeting with us up in Perth before flying down to the event!

Re: Harvester Relays
Anybody know why the Harvester Relay results seem to have become a military secret? I was trying to research for a news article on the club website and they were nearly mpossible to find. They aren't on BAOC or British Orienteering websites. Google wasn't much help till I thought "they must have used Emit" and added 'Emit' to the search.
