Comrades Marathon

Good luck to all those orienteers currently running the 87k Comrades in S Africa. Ed Catmur warmed up yesterday coming 2nd in Durban Parkrun, 5k in 17.12.

Winner in 5-32-08, in very tough conditions. Blood and guts Comrades. Will be tough for the Brits.

Ed finished in 8-13-16. Good time in the conditions.

Dr Jo(asia) Zakrzewski, GP from Dumfries Running Club, doctor for only iROC event a few years ago, was 4th, with three in front all professional athletes.

Great result for her. After 11 hrs 26mins, only 7000 finishers out of 14663 starters - a very low finish level reflecting the tough conditions.
