Re: World Schools Middle
The key seems to be % behind. So he's 7th on % behind, and is the reserve - 7th man. So wheres the problem?

Where does it say that in the selection policy?
the wording is
% behind winner, placing in relevant competitions, etc
How are you meant to now from that, that % behind the winner is the key factor?

When I coached recently at the Talent Squad camp (Cairngorm 2010) it was made clear to the athletes that cumulative % behind winner was the principal focus. I can't speak for the more recent camps, but if this has continued (and there's no reason why not), it will be clear to the athletes if not to the general public.

Re: World Schools Middle
Some people are very very touchy!!! I didn't realise I wasn't allowed to state that my brother was showing the O world, selectors included, what he can do in an international competition!!
I think Dane was very consistent over the selections weekend, has been all year and has some international experience!
He's not bitter but disappointed. Still got 3 years to go so I'm sure he will get there. I may be biased but he's a talented and committed athlete and to a great coach in Colin Dickson.
We weren't moaning or saying his selection was unfair as Speedy123 seems to make out. We simply stated that he was showing people and selectors what he can do.
