Hi Mike,
Thanks for all your work - it's sounding awesome! Similar kind of question to Gross but for the Friday - what sort of time you thinking for the night race, and how far from the airport.

Hi Jayne,
Not come to any definite timings on the night race yet - will let you now as soon as I do. However, it will be clost to Spagna Metro so Fast Train to the Centre and then other metro line for 3 stops and about a 10 minute walk up the hill. We can fix the starts to give you late starts if that helps.
I am controlling Day 2 and Planning Day 3 so have more to do with those than the nightO.

I'm organising an entire Autumn road trip based on this and as a result have had to tell the elder Miss H that I cant visit her at her voluntary job in India until the New Year

Only possible flight on Sunday is to Gatwick at 1515 so could be cutting it fine (and a tad expensive at 185)

that one was £131 when I checked the BA site. and there are later ones to Heathrow at £126. Easyjet doesn't look that far ahead yet

1515 will be fine as it is a morning Sprint, loads of time methinks . moreover, I should be able to fix an early start for you, but I have to say that you are probably not going to find a flight much cheaper than 185 I am afraid, the Friday is a bank holiday in Rome. If you change your mind you will be most welcome.

Re: Venice 2013 cancelled
We flew to Rome at the same time last year - not to go orienteering, just to see the sights. Cheap flights with Ryanair did not appear until June, but we eventually got 4 people and 1 bag from Stansted to Ciampino and back for less than 400 pounds.
The return flight on last year's schedule was late enough to allow lunch in the city centre before heading to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

Website now up and running for ROMe 2013. I have been asked about training opportunities for earlier in the week and answer is below (yes!).
Friday 01/11/2013
•Afternoon: event centre opening
•Evening: race in Viilla Borghese
Saturday 02/11/2013
•Morning: race in Villa Ada
Sunday 03/11/2013
•Morning: city center race
•Followed by prize-giving
On request (details to follow) maps of the following areas can be used for personal training. All areas can easily be reached by public transport:
•Garbatella (urban area) where I live, it is a great area but not suitable for U16s due to traffic.
•Parco della Caffarella (Park O) just over the road had agiro on the MTB last night
•Villa Pamphilj (west of river but similar to Villa Ada i.e. park and woodland 2 x A4 maps)
