Jk overview
Thoroughly enjoyed the JK this weekend - even though it was soooo cold (at least it was dry) well done to everyone involved for working under such perishing conditions and to all who made it go smoothly despite all the various problems along the way. BTW did the caretaker at Newbury College ever turn up?

Me too - particularly enjoyed the Trail O. This was the chance to compete against mini me (who was running M21E) on absolutely level terms. He beat me easily. We enjoyed the Trail O aspect so much we fancy a go at BOC 2013 after our main runs. The rest of the orienteering was OK - these are the sorts of areas I spent my formative years on in my old BAOC days.

Don't think so - the gates were still locked at 13:00.

Remember that the Trail-O is on Sunday, after the Relays. Its about 15 minutes drive
for the Relay Car Park to the Trail-O

Re: Jk overview
I come back every year overwhelmed by the amount of volunteer effort that goes into the JK. Is there anything like it in other sports?
Many thanks to everyone in SCOA for an excellent weekend's racing.

Just a reminder to everyone that after BOC the next opportunity to do TrailO will be on the rest day at Moray2013. Get your entry in through the main event entry form.

Very smoothly run despite a number of difficult problems that arose due to weather. Congratulations to all the volunteers.

Re: Jk overview
After 3 years away, I think the organisation was sharp. Especially Friday's compact arena, led to a lot of excitement, to which one of my non orienteering friends at Reading Uni described as 'people dressing up in funny colours while an apocalypse is happening'.
Would have liked to have seen some more variable leg lengths on the sprint to mix it up, too many one way or the other legs on my course anyway. Thought the other days were excellent all round.

I thought the leg lengths were OK. There was a lot of variety but my favourites were the ones that cut-off just below the knee.

Both days of Trail-O made the best use of the terrain for (IMO) challenging but fair problems. It was great to see Freefall and Jr taking part and the officials appreciated the positive comments they received from you.
See you at both BTOC (and 6days) for more Trail-O and let's hope JK 2014 can provide as good Trail-O courses.
BTW I'd also like to thank all the volunteers for their work over the whole JK weekend - definitely an international festival of orienteering.
