D'ye ken Dave Peel
I am very sorry to hear from Dave (and notified on the BOF site) that he has decided to leave BOF and step down from his role as WOC 2015 Director. I am sure it wasn't the 30 hours stuck with me in Schipol or sharing accommodation last weekend in Edinburgh at the IOF HLES. Hopefully whoever takes over will have the same drive and determination as Dave (and sense of humour to work with me).

That much time with you would make anyone change their future plans
I notice the reason given is close to "wants to spend more time with his family" usually a euphemism but whatever the reasons I'm sure we all wish Dave the best in his future endeavours

Thats a shame. He seemed a very commited and assured leader of the WOC team and his will be a tough pair of inov8s to fill.
Orienteering - its no walk in the park

He was certainly doing a great job leading WOC2015. Will be badly missed, I fear.
Coming soon

I suspect it's a misprint. For "more" read "some".AndyC wrote:I notice the reason given is close to "wants to spend more time with his family"

Re: D'ye ken Dave Peel
There's no doubt that the experience and drive that Dave brought to the WOC team will be missed, but the rest of the team is experienced too and I have no doubts that they will still bring together a fantastic festival of orienteering to Inverness come 2015.
Plus Dave leaving now is giving someone the chance to take the helm and lead things their way from a firm foundation over the next two years.
