I am controlling our level 3 at Loch na Bo. Not used for many years and now with a much improved map this is a cracking wee area. Ken Anderson a novice planner has immediately grasped the technical requirements of all courses and has comfortably managed to get a 9.4km brown course.
We have indoor registration and download so everything is set for a great day. Entries are open at oentries.

A 'wee' area and 9.4k. - oh why do I live in the South-east?

Just dug out an old map of the area, can't wait to have a blast round it again after too many years in the wilderness. It is wee but it's a lot of fun as far as I remember.

Or of third master maps with a third biro colour? Trying to keep the map dry enough to mark up without punching holes in it?

Pre entry www.oentries.com is available for this event, with an assembly area even offering a soft-play centre for those with young children, although that is not included in your entry price!

Up until yesterday the weather forecast was looking about a snasty as it gets.
However all that has changed and it looks set for a dry day with decent road conditions coming over from Deeside.
Were it not for our last event I'd say "as always", but Moravian look as though we'll be spared poor weather.

OK so the Gramps and Marocs that braved the A96 will testify that driving conditions were pretty attrocious both on the way over and on the way back, but those that made it were rewarded with Loch Na Bo at it's very very best.
Flattened golden bracken on rolling fast terrain, gently sloped heather covered moraines with plently of negative featured for the planner to use, and no repetition despite 9.6km in a small area. Excellent Brown course from a 1st time planner.
Moravian are setting a high standard for their Level C events at the moment, with indoor registrations where they can, and some great planning on really fun terrain. It's always worth the effort to travel to, thanks!

Grteat but it's always worth travelling to GRAMP/MAROC's level Cs as well.
Roll on Birsemore Hill. Those that found Loch na Bo hard might just find this a bit harder.
