It was disappointing to read that one of GBR athletes was denied significant sponsorship because 'the powers that be' did not allow the athlete to wear the sponsors logo....
Were the 'powers that be' based in Derbyshire or in Helsinki????

Given the amount of sponsorship on the Swiss team tops I'd say the former, but then most of their sponsorship appears to be team sponsorship which is probably what the 'powers that be' want as opposed to individual sponsorship.

Re: COMPASS SPORT
The Swedish Team have guidelines set by SOFT. An individual can have sponsorship and get their logos on the athletes national kit but there is a minimum sponsorship amount. I think it may be 5000 Kr. I don't see why BOF can't have similar guidelines but guess this would also have to be written into the contracts with other sponsors already in place? It's not like the national team have particularly lucrative deals in place though.

The Swedish system is they have 2 designated areas where a personal sponsor can go. One on the left breast and one on the slieve, I think it's 30000kr for the former and 20000kr for the latter. Pretty easy to setup and fairly obvious what's team and what's personal (although the swiss is even more obvious - personal sponsors below the horizontal line).
And am I right in thinking that with inov8 negotiations taking place the team currently has no sponsors anyway?

The replies above suggest / imply that it is a BOF directive. Which, given the athletes got no financial support for EOC according to the article, makes in a bit unsupportive of BOF.
