Looking forward to another rain lashed event as this year's LAMM location has been announced as Ben Cruachan. I am still recovering from the Jubilee Five and the last couple of days as a general dogsbody at WTOC2012 (yesterday had atrocious weather all day). Fortunately we had haar instead today at the Model event. Gales tomorrow I believe...
See some of you there - Duncan Archer is keen to defend his title.

Sounds like tough courses - Elite started high, then dropped down to sea-level before summiting a 1000m+ Monro before losing a lot of the hight again on the way into overnight camp.
It would also seem one competitor proposed to his partner. What fool carries around the extra weight of a ring...?!

Re: LAMM 2012
Somehow sneaked into 6th place in the Veterans on the Score (out of 42). 28th out of 82 overall . Funny way to celebrate my 58th birthday today. I was going to give up this mountain marathon lark but there is obviously some life left in me.

Re: LAMM 2012
Any reason why the map used in Route Gadget isn't the actual map used in the race? There are a few paths and fences on the race map, presumably added for the race, but not on the map in RG.

That was the map I was sent, as used in the Condes planning file.

Yes well done - you pipped me by narrow margins at Scottish Champs last Saturday and Sunday and on Day 1 of the LAMM so it was almost a relief to see that you beat us by a clear 30 points yesterday.

Apols if this has been asked many times before ...
For Score events/course is it possible to include the points value of each control on the RG map either as well as the control number or instead of it?
(Would this mean the organisers putting those values onto the map which is submitted?)
The effect would be to enable a more interesting comparison of Score strategies without continually resorting to a separate listing of control values (which got mushed in the rain anyway)

The Condes planning file (which I used to generate the map image with the control circles and numbers) only had 10 points for every control which is why I didn't bother including them.
Looking at the control list spreadsheet it also has 10 points for each, it's only on the control descriptions per course that other points values are shown.
I hadn't picked up on it it this year (past years LAMM'sand OMM's do have the points shown) probably as the last few weeks have been very busy for me, so it was all done a bit last minute.
So apologies for missing it this time.
I've added a PDF of the control cards so that that people can see the points values per control, not ideal, but the best I can do after the event.
