Just a query - Why are the Supervet and Ultravet categories different age groups to
the Nopesport and all the other urban leagues?

Re: City of London Race
THE CoL is not part of any of the Urban Leagues. The entry numbers in some of the
urban league bands are so large that the start window becomes very long so the
organisers have decided that those classes presented give the best combination
of competition and reasonable sized start windows.

Originally, the leagues were Open, 40+ and 55+. For London, large entry numbers meant that, for last year's race, 40+ and 55+ groups were split into 40+, 50+ and 60+ (and Open into Long and Short). In doing so, it became ineligible for the leagues.
The leagues themselves have also subsequently done a split, new for this year, but to 40+, 55+ and 65+ instead. In other words, the Ultravet (oldest) category used by the leagues was more recently defined than London's.
50-54 y/os may be relieved to no longer be running with all those speedy 40-49s in London!
Stop talking, start running.
