New BOF events list

if you don't enter a figure for "family groups", it puts £0.00 so they might expect a free run.

This was either not the case, or has been very quickly corrected.

I never put a fee in this category and all that is being shown is a blank space.

Look at the WIM event on 23rd October. (That's not my club).

Hmmmm. I spoke too soon. No sooner did I try and edit a registration than the Family/Group figure showed as 0.00.

I don't understand how a single figure can be given for a family or group without defining what is considered to be a group or family. Just considering families, I have never seen a scheme that is fair to all e.g.many such schemes assume there will be 2 parents. For that reason I have always been opposed to Family/Group rates but very supportive of low junior and student entry fees.

Ooh, I don't think I'd seen that page before - thanks! I guess the "open in Word" feature will be useful for those compiling club newsletters and similar.

This, Scott, is the report layout which appears in Compasssport. A number of clubs use this format in their club newsletters.

The downloadable version of the fixture list would have been even more usefull if BOF had not decided to remove the fees being charged and the punch type from the event information. This, in my view, is a backwards step.

I did report this loss of key information to BOF last week but apparently someone thought , because so many clubs never complete fee information on the BOF website, it was better not to show any information rather than fill the pages with either lots of TBC or 0.00. as before.

If anyone wants to see punch type and fee information in Compasssport can you email BOF and ask for it to be reinstated. The more that ask the more likely BOF will take notice.

I am also asking for them to provide a guide as to the number of courses on offer at a colour coded event. I have suggested they construct a course description along the line of

8 colour code courses ~ White to Brown

Of course, for that to be any use clubs would need to ensure that the colour code boxes on the courses tab on the fixture entry were correctly set up.

Currently this format is the only place where fixture system currently displays a link to an event flyer. For example for our event next weekend

Surely there was a BOF directive that we should provide a direct link from the BOF fixture lists to the event flyers (once they were available). Again ~ have reported this oversight

Surely a better solution would be to provide the information when it is filled in, and omit totally (i.e. no heading, TBC, or 0.00) when not?

Oh Ian ~ if only ! Such an obvious solution. But we are not designing this system. We just have to make the best of what they offer.

Another thing that seems to be missing from the new event list is filtering on type of event (except, strangely, for night events). Previously, you could search for (for example) just urban events, or just sprint events. Or have I just missed how to do this?

I thought the "linked events" feature was useful, allowing the highlight of, for example, a Saturday warm-up event on the fixtures entry for a Sunday championship.

Anybody know why it was removed?

There has been a bug with the linking system ~ they are probably trying to fix it .
