I've just got past the rather modest 450 events mark (over 36 years from first but only continuously from 1983). What's the best that the other saddo's like me who record every event (and store every map in chrono order) can offer. XC-Score-Relay-Night-Mountain-Norwegian-MapMem - but must have had a map with some form of controls to mark course and timing with published results to count - ie no informal training runs with map.
I'm sure there are a lot of you over 1000, some above 1500 and even the odd one or two up at 2,000 or more.
to make it interesting how about responding as per an auction ,,,, so any advance of 452 ??

Re: How many ??
We've already done 53 events this year!
So for any seasoned orienteer with 20 years in the game you would expect 1500+ to be the norm.

Although the number of events has exploded. I remember doing 70 in one year at uni, but that involved a huge amount of effort (including a tour that included the O-ringen, the Danish 3-day and the Swiss 5-day, plus events in between). Now we have midweek events, Saturday races, and loads more domestic holiday events.
Looking at what records I have, I reckon around 1900 races in total.
