Help! I have two OCAD 6 maps which are both geo-referenced and I want to take a partial map from one and import it in to the other. How do I manage to get the import lined up correctly or, in other words, how do I calculate the offset that should be applied when importing the partial map? I can't even work out what the offset is from! Unfortunately the partial map still has a huge amount of data in it so dragging it around until it fits just isn't viable.
Thanks,
DJC

Re: OCAD import help
I had to do the same task last Sunday in OCAD8. This is what I did:
Find a common feature in both maps. Found out its coordinate in each maps. (I just magnified the map to x32, moved the pointer to the feature and read the coordinate at the bottom of the window - there's probably a better way of doing this.) Calculate the difference of the horizontal and the vertical between the coordinates from each map. Then when importing a map, the offset should be the values you've just calculated. You might need to add or remove a negative sign from the values.

Re: OCAD import help
Thanks slang. In the end I worked out what was going on. Both maps were using real world coordinates but had different offsets. Converting those in to mm using the map scale and switching the sign did the trick.
