We need accurate data from competitors on the general question of scale.... perhaps the guidelines are right!!

Well the pretty much unanimous opinion amongst the over-40s in our club tent, was that they weren't in this case.

As a well- over-40 in awk's club tent, I don't seem to have been privy to this discussion. I would not agree with the consensus awk reports.

Wearing my usual glasses and using no other visual aid, I found Tankersley perfectly readable.

My unfortunate loss of time was entirely down to my "relaxing my guard" or "admin error", as it is becoming known, in one of the visually less complex parts of the map - nothing to do with map scale.

Sorry, seabird, the discussions were whilst you were out on the course, with the other M50/60 team members (that should have read over-50s in my post, although there were one or two very voluble 40s on the subject too - I'll leave you to work out who!). It's why I said 'pretty much', knowing you would correct me if I inadvertently included you!

I see that the BOF home page has an invitation to take part in
a survey on this matter. The survey covers all "BOF Championship" events
so far this year (from BNC to BRC inclusive (timescale-wise)).
So which reader of this thread has initiated that then
