It just struck me that if you wanted to look at the Nopesport League scores from the point of view of age-groups other than Open / 40 / 55, the scoring tables offer a different competition. Similar, but not the same.
eg. consider an M50 or an M65 subset of courses 2 and 3. The higher-placed of these categories are not likely to get scores in the top few, with the associated multi-point gaps 100/96/93/91 etc.
As urban races steadily pick up more customers, at some point in the future this probably ought to be fixed.
Urban League Scoring - 40s and 55s are special?

What's there to fix? The veteran categories for the Urban League are 40-54 and 55+. They aren't 40, 45 and 50, nor 40, 41, 42, 43, ... .
Having said that, we're used to identifying our rivals from within our 5-year age-groups so it seemed sensible to include the age-groups, just like the clubs are included. This also makes it possible for competitors to think 'I may be only tenth vet, but I'm top M50 / second in my club / ...'. If they get pleasure out of that, why not? But it's not the Urban League.

I compare myself to my peers in my own age group as Roger suggests. Quite happy with that
