Hi,

Is anyone here participating in the Thetford Thrash event this weekend? Should be two days good orienteering around vaious areas of Thetford Forest.

Yes I went to both days. Both good days - only negative thing was the car parking charges on day one, and my orienteering on both days.

High Lodge parking fees are scandalous (£ 9 a day - though still not as bad as the parking charges at hospitals in the area) . When I visit to walk I always try and park just off road at the end of a fire route. Interestingly the MB peeps do the same (and therefore FC does seem to spend a good deal on their exclusive routes for little direct return).

Trouble is that I see the High Lodge model as what will be aimed at in terms of continued access after a FC sell-off. It will be evidence that access is still allowed - with public fleeced for parking etc. They may continue this sop initially with free access to all or some the rides but some spurious conservation / H&S reason for not leaving them.
