Hello,
Rather an amateurish question but whats the technical name for that stuff you draw onto when mapping? Waterproof tracing paper? Mapping film? Draughting film? And where can i order some on tinternet?

I think you mean "drafting film" - try any search engine! But I don't know what weight is best - I still have a roll left somewhere.
Do people still use film regularly? With computer-based mapping you can just print multiple copies on plain paper, blown-up to whatever scale you want.

Haven't used film for some years.
Personally I find Xerox Nevertear the best (that I've tried) for surveying. It takes pencilled markings well - even when it's raining - and just like it says on the tin - it never tears.
