Well yes, that's ideal, experienced orienteers who can do marketing. But someone who knows marketing can work with orienteers on local publicity. Eg. Caroline Povey produced a newspaper advert for us recently. If I'd done it, it would have looked .... pants.

There's also the job of national/regional marketing which clubs are unlikely to pick up. Lots of this is likely to be on the internet in future and another specialist skill. So long as it doesn't involve ruining other sport's websites with random spam posts.
