Re: Eyam Moor
Yes, and no contour detail discernible on my last leg (due to ingrained mud and loss of print) - back to the early days of O, hunting for 'a' rather than 'the' re-entrant ('the' marked on map, 'a' not marked on map).

Re: Eyam Moor
I fouled up my last control big time (a pit). On looking at my map closely afterwards I was farther above the control than I thought and I am not convinced the contours quite match the reentrant I wasted time in, but there are plenty of details on the map which were good and accurate enough for me to have found the control by. The foul-up was mine, not the maps, and I should have got it right.

Re: Eyam Moor
In case King Penguin and others may have misunderstood me, I have added parentheses to my previous post to clarify that I was in no way critising the map, rather the paper's mud-absorptive and print- loss properties.

Yes, my map had the same unfortunate properties. But that wasn't the reason my navigation was so poor.

Caterer: I regret to report it was the least enjoyable cup of tea I've had this year - a sort of magnolia colour and a dishwatery taste ...

You should have seen the state of it after I had used it as well!
