As someone who lives his life in two locations 200 miles apart I've found the Internet invaluable to keep everything under control and retain knowledge of what is going on - however should the web die I'm sure we'd carry on and go back to modified versions of the way we did it before.
Interestingly I find the ability to locate Orienteering events on websites invaluable -but flyers are still available at events -on the other hand I had a period when I stopped orienteering and fell off mailing lists because of address changes and had trouble getting back in because I didn't know when events were on.
CLOK are holding a 40 year anniversary event this Sunday at Cod Beck run as it would have been in their early days ( black and white maps, pin punches etc.) I wonder how many entrants they would have got if they only publicized in the way they would have in 1969?
If the internet crashed for good?
