Adobe Illustrator & OCAD

About 2 years ago there was a thread which discussed the issues with converting a map from Adobe Illustrator into OCAD. Is anyone out there aware if things have progressed at all? My club has a map that we want to convert and we would rather not reinvent the wheel.
